Entertainment is one of the aspects that are very imperative in any one community. This is because through entertainment, community members are able to gain incomes, get relieved off their stresses, and meet with their friends or even make friendships as entertainment is a social concept. In this respect, community member like to have a night life especially with their spouses, friends, parents, and relatives. People are usually happy when entertained in night life and hence to have adequate and well prepared night life and entertainment is very essential for the people of Kamloops area. This is because most people are usually tired and stressed up after work and hence would like to get somewhere where they can meet their friends and relief their stresses.
Poor night life and entertainment in Kamloops
Night life and entertainment is an aspect that is warmly welcomed in many cities and towns especially by youths. This is because these are social places where people usually meet with their friends and people of Kamloops area being not an exceptional enjoy night life and entertainment. Having said this, there is a problem that needs to be addressed in order to satisfy the needs and requirements of these people (Hesslegrave, 2007). As a problem statement, in Kamloops area there is only one small shopping mall, one cinema, and two night clubs. This can be illustrated in the table below;

This shows that a population of three thousands to three thousands five and hundred can inadequately be served by these limited services (Heaton, 2010). In this case, the area has only one cinema where parents can take their children or spouses take their partners. This is too small for the population of this area and hence need to be expanded. Despite the fact that there are few entertainments' centers in this area, these centers are opened for very little time span hence making it inadequate for people to be entertained. As indicated in the introduction, entertainment and social night life are very imperative aspects that help in growth and development of relationships as well as relieving stresses after work. It can be deduced that the small shopping mall is inadequate for the huge population of this area and hence there is a great need for development (Grazian, 2008).
In order to improve integration and international understanding as a way of promoting cultural diversification, it is very essential to have night markets where people from all global cultures may be invited. This is because people get to appreciate and create friendship with others because of meeting together in a place and having something in common to share (Hesslegrave, 2007). In this case therefore, there is a great problem in this area as the few centers for entertainment are usually very congested especially during the weekends. Human health should under no circumstances be jeopardized and since entertainment is very important to ones life, the conditions it is being practiced should not jeopardize the lives of the partakers.
Problems associated with poor entertainment and night life
As indicated by (Hesslegrave, 2007), when there are congested night clubs and cinemas in a town there are a number of problems that come by. In this case, the fact that people are struggling to get the limited facility usually results to unnecessary fights and people may harm themselves in the process. This can be the case in Kamloops area as there are only two night clubs and one cinema serving more than three thousands people. This indicates that some people will not be in a position to access the services provided in these centers and hence there will increased struggle. The other problem may come from the congestion that may cause lack of enough air leading to suffocation. Many people have been reported to suffocate in night clubs and cinemas because of congestions and hence this is a problem that needs to be addressed. Despite the fact that a lot of revenues and incomes are generated by these night clubs as a result of reduced competition, the problems that are caused or are potentially caused cause more loss.
