Indian Films Making It Big Internationally

Indian movies has been growing in its popularity in the international arena for the past some years. Indian films are increasingly taking the help of Hollywood technicians to be at par with the level of international films. The number of lovers of Hindi movies is increasing everyday in many of the countries in the West. So as to make most of the increasing popularity of Indian films, producers from north and south India as well are trying hard.

There is an immediate surge of superheroes in Indian film industry. Producers have been putting all their efforts to make their movies look like an English movie with newest methods. Tamil movie industry saw its costliest movie with the release of Robot starring popular actor Rajnikanth. Film director Shankar, hired a few of the talented technical experts from the American film industry to provide the special effects for the film. Both the original and Hindi (dubbed) versions of Robot were a hit among the masses and Rajnikanth once again showed his mastery in acting through this film.

Closely following the path of Robot are other superhero films, this time from the Hindi film industry. Shah Rukh Khan's Ra One is supposed to own the title of the most expensive movie made, which crossed the budget of Robot. Krrish 2, second part of Krrish starring Hrithik Roshan is another movie narrating the the story of a superhero saving the world. Exactly like what was done with ‘Robot', both these movies are made in association with the experts from Hollywood. The script for Ra One is penned by David Benullo and a track has been recorded by popular artist Akon. Both Ra One and Krrish 2 are made with the latest technology so as to be at par with Hollywood films of the same genre.

Hindi movies are also starring Hollywood actors and actresses, besides the technical experts in the movie. The Brazilian supermodel Barbara Mori was cast last year to co-star along with Hrithik Roshan in ‘Kites'. The strategy, however, did not help the film's commercial success. Another upcoming movie is Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, directed by Zoya Akhtar, which has some foreign tie-ups. The film has a line up of cast including Hrithik, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol as the main actors. The film, shot in Spain sees Carlos Catalan (Barcelona) handling the camera in addition to Ariadna Cabrol, a Spanish actress.

With increased collaboration with foreign technical crew and stars, the Indian films, particularly Hindi films, is trying to spread its wings internationally. How far it can compete with American film industry is yet to be seen, as audiences are eager for the release of these movies.
