King of Hindi Cinema - Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh's fame is not only limited to Hindi film industry or India, but it has gone far beyond and touched the hearts of a lot of people across the world, of various origin, language and culture. As a proof to this statement, came the success of his newest movie My Name Is Khan starring Kajol, his best friend in the film field. It became the highest grossing movie of Shah Rukh Khan in his career. It wouldn't be wrong to say that his fame is increasing day by day nationally and internationally. All are anticipating the release of Don 2 and RA One, his upcoming films.

 

How he came into films is a story of talent and continuous efforts. He started off in TV as an actor in several serials like Fauji, Circus, Dil Dariya, Doosra Keval and many more. While acting in serials like these, he could polish his acting skills, learned from Barry John, when he was a part of Theatre Action Group. In the 1990s Shah Rukh Khan entered Bollywood with the film Deewana. Deewana was a good platform for his acting career as the movie not just became a success at the box office but also brought him the Best Debutante Award in Filmfare Awards. The next year proved great for his film career as all of his films became successful commercially. The character in Baazigar fetched him the trophy of best actor and he got nominated for best villain for the film Darr in 1993.

 

The credit is not for receiving awards but it is for selecting characters of variety in his film career. He was seen in a negative role in the movie Anjaam but he performed the role of a good son in Karan Arjun. He performs the role of a carefree person in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ), who at last meets all challenges to unite with his lover. His performance in Anjaam and DDLJ was recognized when he received Best Villain and Best Actor Award.

 

Among his long list of films, Yes Boss, Swades, Don- The Chase Begins Again, Paheli, Chak De India, Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Pardes, Duplicate, Dil Se, Veer-Zaara, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and Main Hoon Na, are the recent ones.

 

He tries to maintain a good relation with his film directors, producers, technicians and all the actors and actresses, he has worked with. Viewers also appreciate his work as a TV anchor and a producer. Shah Rukh Khan rules the film industry with Padma Shri (from the Indian Government) and 13 awards from Filmafare.
