Gandhi to Hitler Movie review

The film Gandhi to Hitler is good in parts and in other parts a number of things are lacking to make it a better film. Based on two great personalities of our time, it also gives a lesson in history to its audience.

THIS WEEK Gandhi to Hitler was the film that left a mark with the critics. The reviews of the film are good as the film shows the differences in the ideologies of two men who changed the course of their country. While applauding the director for taking up such a difficult subject, the film also faces criticism.

It shows two great men and how the way they think affects two different nations. The film also brings to the table the misty facts where Hitler and Gandhi actually have a connection. The Mahatma wrote to the Nazi tyrant two to three times to think about what he is doing and how that is affecting everything and it is included in ‘Gandhi to Hitler.'

The one flaw that strikes the eye is that all the characters are played by Indians. Even Hitler and his girlfriend are played by Indian actors. This sometimes disturbs the story.
The director, Rakesh Ranjan Kumar, has taken some world war documentary scene to bring the forceful nature of the War. Although the backdrop of the movie, Gandhi to Hitler, has violence and war yet the film is intensely psychological.

Hitler is shown at the end of his life. He is at a place where he is suspicious of all the people around him and Berlin's worst phase in human history is over as Hitler has fallen. Gandhi at this point writes two letters to Hitler asking him to think over his action. The theme of the film makes one think time and again about the frivolity and the uselessness of war. It is very relevant in moderns times where countries are experiencing war like situations or are fighting against terrorism.

The film makes you think but it falls short of becoming a critically acclaimed film due to the acting and sometimes also directing. All in all, people who are really fascinated by Hitler or Gandhi should positively give this film a try.

Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 2 review

Hogwarts is calling again this weekend and the fans are going to have lot of fun with this movie, which is a visual treat. David Yates didn't restrain himself as he has tried every trick in the book to make this movie memorable for the audience.

THE POTTER mania is back again, what with David Yates and JK Rowling having to offer the last movie of the Potter series. The review of the movie is great, as per critics, as the cinematography is perfectly in place with the latest technology in Hollywood. If not a Potter fan, a person who loves watching real magic created in front of the camera should definitely watch this weekend's most awaited film 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2'.

The darkest part of the Potter series is also the shortest part. It finishes in 2 hours and 10 minutes but the tone of the film is just right. The last part ending at the death of Dobby (the house Elf) this part takes off from there and keeps the audience at their seats end. The tone of the film moves up and down with the fate of the protagonist.

The larger than life characters created by Rowling are showcased in the silver screen in their true avatar.
Audiences would not only love the virtuous Harry, brave Ron, intelligent Hermoine but they would also fall in love with the almost mad bellatrix, the control freak Snape and the vicious Voldemort. Although at times the film appears dim but that adds to the gloomy feel. The audiences would really submerge in the world where everything is wrong and Harry is their only hope.

Coming a full circle, Harry ends his journey in Hogwarts (the place that gave him his individuality) and duels with the greatest lord of Non Muggle world. To say more would really be not fair to the audiences as this movie is surely a visual treat, with the duel scenes creating magic on screen. To watch it in 3D adds to the magic.

The actors have done their very best and we see all them matured and ready to face the world. For the Potter fans this movie would again be nostalgic as they would experience the bittersweet ending of the world of Harry Potter.

A bad script ruined Oscars says last year's co-host Franco James

REMEMBER THIS year's Oscar with an uncontrollably giggling Anne Hathaway and a Franco James, who seemed so uncomfortable that he looked like he was in a straitjacket. Well, as some would say these two actors of the new generation were asked to host the most prestigious event of Hollywood in order to attract the younger generation.

Some fail to see the need, as almost everyone loves to watch the red carpet and the strutting of the stars, the tears and the speech. This year's Oscars got the lowest viewership due to dismal performance by the host. The script was not that great either. Even last year, with not such a great script, Alex Baldwin and Steve Martin had the audience in splits, an iota of which was not achieved this year. Now as news would have it Franco James was never happy with the script and is now quite eloquent about it.

According to sources, he said that he was not happy with the script of the live performance but thought of going on with it.
Talking to a reputed magazine he said, "It's hard to talk about because it's like assigning blame - not a fun thing to do. For three or four weeks we shot the promos and the little film that played in the opening."

The 127 Hours star, who himself had an Oscar nomination felt trapped in the material and also thought that the words did no justice to him. He added, "in the last week, when we really started focusing on the script for the live show and did a run-through, I said to the producer, 'I don't know why you hired me, because you haven't given me anything. I just don't think this stuff's going to be good'."

Even after telling the producer, when things didn't work out, he didn't fight the idea of being Marilyn Munroe. Although he looked funny but it did nothing to raise the act, which seemed amateurish and not at all Oscarish. He even tried to bring in some writers but the producers didn't include any of the lines written by them.

All in all whatever he says might be true but great actors sparkle through whatever lines are given to them and everyone missed that sparkle this time in the Oscars.

The film "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara", which releases this Friday is already making headlines due to its starcast and the locations of the film. Essentially shot it Spain, the film revolves around the holiday of three friends. After Luck By Chance, this is Zoya Akhtar's another commercial attempt and looking by the fact that the songs and the music is already making the top of the charts, the film too, would be Zoya's first commercial success.

The three best friends are played by Hrithik Roshon, Farhan Akthar and Abhay Doel.
Kabir, played by Abhay Doel, is a rich man working for his father's company is getting married to the daughter of a hotelier, played by Kalki Kochin. He wants to have a long bachelor's party before he finally ties the knot and enters matrimonial life. For that he invites two of his best friends, Arjun (Hrithik) and Imraan (Farhan) to accompany him to Spain.

After an initial glitch, they go for a three-week long vacation in Spain and have the time of their life. There Katrina, a student in London, meets them and everything falls into place. Every character evolves in the trip and their relationship also changes. After the dark film Shaitan it would be a wonderful change to see friendship converting people for the better.

As already said, the songs are already making the top chartbusters. The song 'Senorita' is a personal favourite of everyone as we can hear all the three protagonist lending their voice in the song. Spain is wonderful; with their rituals and festivities that forms a character in the film.
